AMANDA TAYLOR, MS, LLP (She/Her)

I sincerely believe that all people have equal inherent worth and that self-acceptance and compassion are core components of the relationships we have with ourselves and others. I use principles from cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and other mindfulness-based and interpersonally-focused treatments to help clients live meaningful, effective, and authentic lives. I have experience treating adults with a range of anxiety and personality disorders, depression, and trauma. I am particularly interested in working with clients through relationship and parenting stressors and traumas, body image exploration and healing, grief, and anxiety.

I completed my master's degree in clinical-behavioral psychology from Eastern Michigan University in 2013. I have worked and trained extensively in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and have practiced mindfulness for over 15 years. I am a full-time faculty member at The University of Michigan - Flint, where I teach, study, write, and speak about mindfulness-based clinical interventions regularly. I am a master's level licensed psychologist and practice under the supervision of Dr. Hunt-Carter.

I identify as a fat, white, cis-gendered woman. I think deeply about intersectional identities and am committed to personal work related to understanding the effect that systemic and interpersonal oppression, power, and privilege have.

Lately, my most joyful moments have included watching my twins discover the world and nourishing the deep friendships I'm grateful to have.
