My name is Dr. Erin Hunt-Carter. I am a clinical psychologist and the director of the clinic.  I would like to tell you a bit about myself and my approach to therapy.

I recognize that everyone is different and that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I will work with you to develop an individualized plan to address the issues that are bringing you to therapy. I use a variety of evidence-based treatments. In particular, I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy (IPT), elements of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based techniques.

I graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2010. I and am fully licensed in the state of Michigan. During my pre-doctoral practicum I worked at the McCambridge Women and Children's Treatment Center, in Columbia, Missouri. I did individual and group therapy with women who had substance use disorders. I also conducted individual and couples psychotherapy in a community-based out-patient clinic. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the VA Ann Arbor Hospital, with primary rotations in the Substance Abuse Clinic and the PTSD Clinic.  I also spent six years as a staff psychologist at Counseling and Psychological Services at Eastern Michigan University, where I saw students with a wide range of presenting concerns and also coordinated the post-doctoral and post-master’s training program.
